Welcome to the Sally Morgan Library

  Welcome to Country and welcome to the new Sally Morgan Library!  Our mission is to highlight the contributions of our First Nations authors as well as authors of all race and backgrounds.  We wish to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this region, the Whadjuk People of the Noongar Nations and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community.  We pay respect to Elders, past, present and emerging. We are proud and privileged to name our new library after the esteemed Western Australian author, dramatist and artist Sally Morgan. Her first book  My Place  told the story of her family's past, which reflected Australia's past, which many people did not know at that time.  It is a story of children taken from their mothers, slavery, abuse and fear because their skin was a different colour. Computer Usage Statement for Patrons

  The Sally Morgan Library allows free access to our computers and the internet.  All our members are welcome to make use of our technology within the following guidelines. πŸ’»      Users must be a current member.  You will need a library card and PIN for  ac cess.  Keep these safe and make sure you log off the computer after you have finished. πŸ’»       Computers may be used for up to 2 hours per day.   πŸ’»     Reservations are recommended and during busy times, reservations are  e ssential.  You can reserve online or at our service desk.  They can be made  u p to one week in advance. πŸ’»     Misuse of computers for any illegal or anti-social activity is absolutely prohibited and membership can be disqualified immediately. πŸ’»     The library is not responsible for any loss of data due to power outage or  c omputer failure.  We highly recommend you back up your w...

WHS - Multimedia Usage

It is important to keep yourself and everybody around you safe at all times, but using multimedia has specific considerations.  We have the following guidelines to keep our members and staff safe: πŸ’» .     Ensure equipment used is regularly checked πŸ’»    Visually inspect equipment before use for any noticeable damage or faults. If any fault or damage is seen, isolate the equipment immediately and report said damage for a professional to assess and make appropriate action πŸ’»    Do not have any liquid around electrical items  πŸ’»    Use trolleys to carry heavy multimedia equipment πŸ’»    Be careful when handling multimedia equipment and avoid twisting the back when lifting πŸ’»    Ensure the workstation is at correct height for proper body posture πŸ’»   Limit your time at the screen and take regular breaks
